Interactive Remote Demonstrations (IRDs)

These specialized demonstrations are conducted by internationally renowned woodturners via Zoom, making them accessible to you in the comfort of your own home. The cost of these sessions is included with your WAWA membership.

Clinics Taught in Our Dedicated Classroom

Conducted monthly in our Wilmington training facility — featuring 10 Rikon midi-lathes for student use — these hands-on clinics are conducted by experienced WAWA members on a wide range of subjects including bowl making, spindle turning, safety, tool sharpening, lathe maintenance, finishing techniques, and more. Free with your WAWA membership.

Monthly Meetings

We hold monthly meetings which feature a live demonstration. Also, the value of meeting and comparing notes with other talented, passionate woodturners is priceless.

Periodic group buying events offer members the opportunity to purchase top-make tools and equipment at significant savings. Past group buys have been from industry leading suppliers such as Thompson Tools and Woodturner’s Wonders.

WAWA members share more than knowledge — it’s not uncommon for a member to show up at a meeting with a truckload of wood, or for an online call to go out when an opportunity exists to scoop up wood for the next turning masterpiece.
