Get to know the Wilmington Area Woodturners Association.

You’ll be glad you did.

Our Mission

First and foremost the mission of WAWA is to provide a forum by which its members can enhance their knowledge of woodturning by sharing experiences and techniques with each other and through continuing education.

Secondly, WAWA strives to broaden awareness and knowledge about the craft of woodturning with those in Wilmington-area communities.

WAWA seeks to gain community recognition and support by participating in local events, education programs, training classes, and exhibits.

It’s all about people.

In this world of online-everything — and particularly after the past years of Covid-induced distance — it’s increasingly clear there is no substitute for in-person, face-to-face meeting, mentoring, learning, sharing and laughs. We can speak at length about our program offerings, but the true value of your WAWA membership is in the friendships you’ll make over time as we work, learn, turn and commiserate together.

Dial up your learning.

Whether from demonstrations by world-class woodturners — in-person and remote — or through clinics taught by our most experienced members, woodturning knowledge is right before you ready to be absorbed.
