Wilmington Area Woodturners Association is one of more than 360 local chapters of the Association of American Woodturners (AAW) spread across North America and beyond. Our Wilmington-based chapter is the hands-on resource for woodturners in the greater Cape Fear region, with active members coming from as far as Myrtle Beach and Jacksonville. The American Association of Woodturners (AAW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the art and craft of woodturning worldwide by providing opportunities for education, information, and organization to those interested in turning wood. AAW’s award-winning journal, American Woodturner, is the foremost publication on the art and craft of woodturning in the world. Many years of archived issues are available to members.

Online Woodturners Forum

The online forums hosted by AAW are extremely busy with members answering questions, sharing advice, and displaying their work at a dizzying pace. Members share real-world reviews of tools and equipment, tips on maintenance and performance, and tricks for accomplishing advanced techniques.

Annual National Symposium
